Grill-Your-Own Seafood in Saiki, OitaKamae Oyster House

Kamae Oyster House is a casual oyster hut inside Michi-no-Eki Kamae, a roadside station on the coast of Saiki, Oita. Oysters, scallops, and other seafood come straight from local farmers and fishermen in Kamae Bay — and you grill them yourself, right at your table. Just 5 minutes from the Kamae IC expressway exit. No reservation needed.

Grill it yourself

Grill your seafood right at your table. Not sure how long to cook something? Our staff are happy to show you — just ask.

Pay at the register

When you're done, pay at the register. Cash, credit cards, e-money, and QR code payments are all accepted.

A few tips: shells can pop and spit hot juices while grilling, so take care as they cook. Please grill all seafood thoroughly before eating. The seating area is covered, so we're open rain or shine.

By car (recommended)

5 min from Kamae IC on the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway. Roughly 1.5–2 hours by car from Oita City or Beppu. Free parking on site.

By public transport

Oita Kotsu bus to the "Michi-no-Eki Kamae" stop (1 min walk). Bus service is limited — we strongly recommend coming by car.
